"Splendid Style! Splendid Productions on stage 2004-09" - £15

An extended essay exploring the toolkit of processes and techniques Splendid have developed in our first five years of performances.

This is a friendly and colourful introduction to Splendid Productions and our splendid productions, and how we incorporate what we teach into how we perform.

A great resource for anyone studying practitioner techniques in performance, or with an interest in the creative processes behind a touring company's finished work.

In 102 fact-packed pages, 'Splendid Style' is full of insights from our creative core in four sections:

Productions covered: 'The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui', 'Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad', 'Antigone', 'The Good Woman of Szechuan' and 'Woyzeck'.

"Your book about the Splendid Style is excellent. The information about the different practitioners that have influenced you is a really accessible introduction for students. Two groups this year are citing 'Splendid' as a key influence for their Work Devised Project at A2 as they have opted for a creative adaptation as their final piece. They have been having great fun working out ways to 'tickle' and 'slap' their audience."
Helen Whelan, Parkstone Grammar School, Poole

“I wasn’t sure how the ‘Brechtian’ approach to Antigone would work – but it made it both accessible to the students and relevant to their lives now.”
John Wycherley, New College, Nottingham

"[Woyzeck] made a difficult text lively and engaging"
Claire Hodge, Greenshaw High School, Sutton

Val Goodwin, Beaminster School

Past Production Teacher Packs - £12.00 each

"The education pack is FANTASTIC! I’d even go so far as to say ‘Gold dust!’”
Clare Norton, Colston’s Girls School, Bristol

All our productions come with a teacher pack crammed with so much useful information, they are an excellent teaching resource all on their own. Not only do they give an insight into each production, they also deal in detail with the history and practitioner theory surrounding the piece, the playwright and Splendid’s adaptation, with numerous specific examples of theory at work in each play.

"The production notes are an excellent resource’”
